Guest guest
Well, jumping right in, I'm regressing and reading all the kids books I missed as a child. I just finished the Enchanted Forest series. So, along with junk reading, a couple of old cookbooks I just found (The Oats, Peas, Beans & Barley Cookbook, Acorns and Eat'em), some gardening books because we moved from the coast with over 300 growing days to an area with four seasons and snow (What Grows Here), I'm reading the Redwall series. Not too much time right now for reading as we are clearing an acre for a garden, just moved 9 fruit trees away from the house and into their own "orchard," moved some roses and planted strawberries, raspberries and marion berries. Oh, and we have ordered a bunch of native plants books so we can identify all the plants growing around here. Just found a new-to-us strange little plant today. It is kind of orangy brown, has celery/fern looking leaves and a flower that is kinda like a bromilad and only about 5" tall. Guest guest
I'm currently reading Treating Depression Naturally. I have bipolar disorder type 2 and am highly medication resistant (I was on 9 meds last January and still ended up in the hospital.) So I decided to wean myself off my meds and am reading up on treating myself naturally. Mostly I'm using fitness and plan to start meditating again soon. Some of my favorite books are the Charlotte and Thomas Pitt Mysteries by Anne Perry. Has anyone ever seen the movie Heavenly Creatures? It was based on a true story and Anne Perry is one of those girls. I have a thing for British murder mysteries - I also like P.D. James a lot. And I highly recommend Minnette Walters' The Ice House, although I was disappointed by most of her other books (except The Sculptress.) Guest guest
The one is an orangy color, brown tones. I've taken pictures of it and when I get the roll developed, I'll post some to the files section. We found another one which looks like a relative to the Columbine but the leaves aren't right, the blooming time isn't right and the flower is TINY! Maybe 4" tall. 76 degrees as we speak on our back deck. Guest guest
Yeah, post pics and I might be able to give you some help, too. I do lots of plant ID for my job, after all. Of course, that's in the Mojave/Sonoran/Great Basin Deserts, but what the hey? At least I can try to get you in the ballpark. sara , fraggle <EBbrewpunx@e...> wrote: > ummm...brownish lil-like flower..fern-like leaves umm... that region is sorta out of my loop(and it seems california has an endemic species over every hill)...but..have a ton of books at home..let me try and find it as for the other..w/o a pictures its tough..if this was the east coast i would say Dutchman's Breeches ] Questions for Fraggle.
