Guest guest
Well, we've been watching HGTV's House Hunters and they've been doing Europe and Canada. London, Florence, Barcelona and Montreal (I think that was the Canadian city). Do any of you folks in Europe and Canada get that program? Is it indicative of the prices? Because if it is, then California prices are a mere drop in the bucket and we're always being told we are pricing folks out of the owning a house market. Guest guest
We don't get that programme here. It's almost impossible to buy a house if you don't already own one here. The average price in southern England is somewhere upward of £200,000, but most often £300,00 upwards. Guest guest
Well, I guess we need to quite complaining about the price of housing in the U.S. I mean, that equates to over a quarter of a million to over half a million U.S. dollars. And the ones that I saw were just flats and needed lots of renovations. We paid $100,000 for 12 acres, 2/2 of over 14000 sq. ft., horse barn, other outbuildings and a historical gold miner's cabin plus two creeks. AND we live in California which " they " say is the most expensive place in the world to live. I think NOT! My neighbors just sold and moved to Washington state. They bought their house for $575K about 6 years ago and sold for $1,177,000. I don't know where it will end. Or how people can keep paying these prices. I'm from Portland and it's bad up there too. nancy - very glad to have bought when we did
