Guest guest
Eventhough McDonald's french fries are fried in 100% vegetable shortening, they don't tell you that they are pre-blanched in beef tallow before they are frozen.

They were sued by some Hindus for this a couple of years ago. I don't know if they have changed their chip-frying now. I think they may have as they are now accredited by the Vegetarian Society. I'll check on their chips. Jo

Guest guest
umm no... McDeathburger french fries are still not even vegetarian... in the colonies over here they still use beef fat as a *natural flavor*....and even tho they announced over a year ago they they were switching to a more *healthy* oil, they basically gave up on it and are still using trans fatty partially hydrogenated oils.... Guest guest
There's lots of food items that aren't vegan in the US but are in the UK - like Kelloggs cornflakes, rice krispies etc. I expect they use the partly hydrogenated oil though - vegan but not healthy!
