So, how goes the election over on yer lil isle?

we don't ear much over here, except fer the snippets on alternative radio

sources (on that blair is in trouble, but since ya'll don't vote directly for

him anyways, there isn't going to be much of a change)...i don't listen t othe

*regualr* news much, except fer the morning news, and they haven't uttered a

peep yet

so, wot is ya'lls perspective?

Labor going to win? Tory's gonna pull an upset? i forget the third party over

there..liberal democrats???

any chance that if labor wins they won't pick blair?

Hi Fraggle

I reckon Labour will win again unfortunately. I would hope the Liberal

Democrats win - they were the only ones who were always against invading

Iraq. I don't think they stand much chance of winning though - but may get

some more seats in Parliament. No chance of getting rid of Blair though -

if Labour gets in we're stuck with him.

I wish we could say we didn't hear much about American elections - they

bombard us with it on a daily basis!

That's good. Election propaganda never makes good listening.

Hi Fraggle

> So, how goes the election over on yer lil isle?

Doesn't start till tomorrow morning!!! Obviously we're getting bombarded

with propaganda from all sides right now...

I'm getting propaganda in triplicate, since I now live in one of the most

marginal constituencies in the country - there's only 4,000 votes seperating

all 3 parties, so it could go any way... and I'm getting rather fed up with

the amount of paper that is getting stuffed through the letter box! Still...

it's nice to know that I'm one of the 4% of voters who can actually make a

difference (even if it is only in a small way)!

Wellll.... there's been a big campaign to get Tony Blair defeated in

Sedgefield (his constituency) - if by some miracle that campaign works, it's

possible that we could end up with a Labour government, but without Blair as

an MP - and it would be difficult for the queen to name him as Prime

Minister if he's not an MP (although not entirely unknown - Alec Douglas

Hume wasn't an MP when he became PM)

I think the likely outcome is another Labour government, but with a reduced

majority - I'm personally hoping for a hung Parliament with Liberal

Democrats holding the balance of power... at least in the real world. In the

" ideal " world, we'd have a Green Party government, but that's a good 50

years off yet!!!

I hope that made sense to you folks in the US - I suspect there's a few

peculiar English terms in there!!

Come on Fraggle, why you try to goad us suffering populace. Havent we suffered enough this week?

P.S. I normally notice about 100 to 150 emails when I get to a computer in this chat group, today there are nearly 350? what is going on? admittidly a lot are duplicates ( good old - still havent figured out why that happens), but does this increase mean that there are more vegans out there ( hopefully?). One day , when my ship comes in, I will own my own PC, and be able to keep up with things in this site.
