Hello Lynda

Thank you... I just checked out those links and have a better

understanding. It's not that humanure, (love that term!) is a bad

fertilizer, it's all the other crap that is mixed with it: meaning

anything anyone pours down the drain. It comes back to the non

biodegradable cleaners, oils, paints, etc...

It's not that shit is bad fertilizer, it just has to be partially

composted befor used to grow food. I think sewage shit is always bad

to use because it contains anything that any dumbass has thrown down

the drain. I think that they should enforce not putting bad things

down the drain. Atleast advertise it more. A Commercial?

It would be a good idea to advertise not to put all sorts of things down the

drain - but I guess people would still do it.

We used to live across the street from a cop. The area we lived in was a

rain forest area (redwoods, old growth) with lots of rivers (7) and a

zillion creeks and run-off streams. Most of these fed into the bay as did

the drainage ditches on the streets.

The cop's m-i-l had a little mut cross poodle and the groomer came to their

home. For starters she parked the passenger side wheels on the sidewalk. A

no-no here, which of course the cop was fully aware of. Then she took all

her dirty dip and doggie bath water and let it out into the drainage ditch

(the reason to park half on the sidwalk was to create good flow out of the

van). We are talking some nasty chemicals because she was doing flea and

tick dips.

It is bad enough what goes into the sewer but when folks do it and pollute

streams etc., it is REALLY nasty.

I don't know about Europe but here we have special days and places for all

those chemicals but folks still are too blooming lazy and dump everything in

the ditch and down the drain.

Well, I hate to respond to my own e-mail but this just popped up on the

telly on the show Amazing Vacation Homes.

This house was totally off the grid and all the gray water went into planter

boxes and the black water went into a solar composter that rendered the

solids into ash. According to the homeowner there is no smell.

Very interesting!
