Guest guest
Hey, Jeff. If you aren't going to go the kitty vegan diet, at least be sure that whatever you buy doesn't have " animal digest " in it. Animal digest is anything that once was an animal including roadkill and euthenized animals from shelters. Surely from a compassionate, vegan-ish point of view, " animal digest " is therefore better than non animal digest. I mean, road kill isn't great, but the animal would be dead whether it was being eaten or not - so at least fewer animals are being killed. So, I'd say definitely go for " animal digest " - after all, cats would quite happily eat road kill if they were wild, since it's easier than hunting. Guest guest
Animal digest contains animals that are euthenized which includes the chemicals to kill them. It includes roadkill that has laid there and bloated and rotted. It contains animals from auctions that didn't stand up. It includes animals that died from disease. Some of these diseases can harm the animal you feed it to. Some of these diseases can then be transmitted to their owners. And, actually, unless next to starving, unlike dogs, cats prefer life kills and generally don't go for carrion. They are quite fussy.
