Guest guest
there is a whole slew of folks who believe since *we* were given " dominion " over the earth by god, we can do with it as we please now..i'm all for religious tolerence..worship who and wot you want..er don't worship...whichever but..the Rapture ready folks scare the bejeebers out of me i don't wanna knock anyone's belief system (well..i do it all the time..neo-cons need to be digging latrines behind orphanages in iraq...)..but.... anyways...not only have they happily found a home in our government over here..apparantly they are in big business as well oh joy In his book The Carbon Wars, Greenpeace activist Jeremy Leggett tells how he stumbled upon this otherworldly agenda. During the Kyoto climate change negotiations, Leggett candidly asked Ford Motor Company executive John Schiller how opponents of the pact could believe there is no problem with " a world of a billion cars intent on burning all the oil and gas available on the planet? " The executive asserted first that scientists get it wrong when they say fossil fuels have been sequestered underground for eons. The Earth, he said, is just 10,000, not 4.5 billion years old, the age widely accepted by scientists. Then Schiller confidently declared, " You know, the more I look, the more it is just as it says in the Bible. " The Book of Daniel, he told Leggett, predicts that increased earthly devastation will mark the " End Time " and return of Christ. Paradoxically, Leggett notes, many fundamentalists see dying coral reefs, melting ice caps and other environmental destruction not as an urgent call to action, but as God's will. Within the religious right worldview, the wreck of the Earth can be seen as Good News! Some true believers, interpreting biblical prophecy, are sure they will be saved from the horrific destruction brought by ecosystem collapse. They'll be raptured: rescued from Earth by God, who will then rain down seven ghastly years of misery on unbelieving humanity. Jesus' return will mark the Millennium, when the Lord restores the Earth to its green pristine condition, and the faithful enjoy a thousand years of peace and prosperity. I’m gonna tell all you fascists you may be surprised The people in this world are getting organized You’re bound to lose, you fascists are bound to lose
Guest guest
The current admin is propped up by the rabid, radical, religious right. The goal, a theocracy. In their book of myths it said that all on this earth was given to man for man's use. Somehow they keep getting the definition of " use " confused with ABuse. they think they are snynonyms or something. It all goes back a long ways with Knights Templar, Good Templars, Masons, Skull & Bones and so forth and so on. Bob Jones University, Mike Farris and a whole slew of " train up an army " folks are out there now teaching classes on how the rabid, radical, religious right can take over government and how to insinuate themselves into the government. They have a massive intern program going in both Houses right now. Guest guest
we discussed this a couple times awhile back its a mistranslation of the word dominion... so, like, if yer parents go out fer the evening, and they leave you in charge of yer little brother, you have dominion over him.....you prolly shouldn't shave his entire body and start selling his organs on the black market..
