Guest guest
Hello! I'm Ron, I am retired from Calif. State Forestry, and Dept. of Corrections. I just read " The weight loss Cure " . For years I have suspected the greedy, wealthy, food producers in this nation were in tuned with addicting the public for profit, not caring as to the out come and results to the health of this nations population. So! my whole intention is to find a source of food that is in its almost natural state so that I may be able to detoxify myself and become the man that I was. Guest guest
Hi Ron, I am Katie in Alaska. I order organic foods from Azure standard. Even after paying shipping to Alaska their prices are less than the grocery stores. They truck their stuff all over the west coast for free. Guest guest
I have a Ranch here in So. Cal. I had my giant garden prepped and ready to plant so as to help me on the road to vegan-ism, however, it rained so hard that the water ran down the road from the upper pasture and went right through my freshly prepared soil. Noe I have to take the tractor and go down to the creek and get it back. LOL Ron Marcia Tippett <ladymarcia_55 wrote: Welcome to the group. I'm here to learn as well. Guest guest
Some landscaping and flood control might be in order before you plant. You don't want to have to go downa nd retrieve your garden after the seeds are in. Good luck. I have a garden here, too, but as I am in Alaska it will be months before I can even find the garden,. It is currently under about 4 feet of snow and will stay that way until late April. The ground isn't thawed enough to work until late May. But it must stay and This rain will end soon. Ron Katie M <cozycate wrote: Some landscaping and flood control might be in order before you plant. Guest guest
Hey Ron! I'm Liz. I too live in SoCal and am starting my own garden this season. Though I live in a condo so it's nothing near as big as yours (nothing that requires a tractor!). I'm going to try carrots, lettuce, spinach, beans, peas, tomatoes, lavender, garlic, basil, and a few other herbs that aren't coming to me right now. Those are the main veggies we use on a regular basis, I don't know yet if I'll have room for onion and potatoes, those are the only veggies I haven't included that we consume regularly. I'm limited in my space and time, so I'm trying not to go overboard! Liz Ronald Stanford <stanfor2 wrote: I have a Ranch here in So. Cal. Guest guest
Our patio is actually one of the bigger ones in the association and the herbs will be in a window box. We're a family of four, but my kids are young and don't eat much for their age anyway. One thing we're really trying to do is cut back our portion sizes too. DH and I really have found that we eat too much and that's half our problem. If I don't have room for all of it, that's okay, I'll plant what I can and try to find a way to make more room for next year. Guest guest
I've added you as a friend so my updated Macafee Spam Killer won't keep marking your mail as spam. Until I someone e-mails me and I mark each one, it will do that. I'm trying, but I just updated it a couple of days ago. I meant to backspace it out of the subject line. Maybe they put it at a low part, to collect rain to water the garden. I know that is what some friends of mine did, that put in a small garden a long ways from any source of water. Judy Judy - Ronald Stanford Thursday, February 15, 2007 8:58 PM Re: [sPAM] Re: New Member-Ron It's all right, I worked two months preping the soil, now the weather man says we are going to get it next week again. So I will leave the mud where it's at and wait until it decides to quit for the year. Mon and Dad when they owned this Ranch should not have put a garden at the botton of the drive way. I really need the organic veggies. How come the mail I am getting says RE: (spam)? Ron wwjd <jtwigg wrote: Oh my, that sounds like a lot of work.
