Guest guest
yuck. We have a half empty jar of the stuff! Not sick from it, but plan to send in the lid. ANy info on how peanut butter was contaminated??? But thanks for the heads up, I never actually noticed that it came from Conagra Foods, a company I try to avoid, so we'll be sticking w/ another brand from now on! Don't like the separation factor of natural PB, any good suggestions for brands? Thanks, melissa , " Andrea Berman " <andrea.berman wrote: > > I'm glad that I switched to organic peanut butter. Guest guest
Try the Smart Balance Peanut Butter. http://www.smartbalance.com/omega3.html It is natural, doesn't seperate and is loaded with the Omega's. We really love it. It is a bit pricey but very good for you. Judy - Melissa Thursday, February 15, 2007 9:52 PM [sPAM] Re: recall on peanut butter, suggestions for better peanut butter brand? yuck. Guest guest
I bought my last jar at Trader Joe's and I store it upside in the refrigerator, it helps the oils to go to the bottom of the jar. Guest guest
I use Maranatha organic (the kind with just peanuts), which separates very little after the first stir. Maranatha also make a " no stir " variation, but that one has sugar and oil in it. (I haven't tasted it or looked at the label closely enough to know how much is in there, though.) There's another brand that's made by a co-op in the Midwestern U.S. that also doesn't separate much, but I'm blanking out on the name. Maybe someone else does? Anyway, hope this helps, Melissa Peace, Maureen Melissa wrote: > Don't like the separation factor of natural PB, any > good suggestions for brands? Guest guest
Melissa, I use the separation factor to my advantage, pouring off the excess oil which is floating on the top. Then you are eating less fat in your peanut butter! The oil can be used in cooking, like for stir fries or in making Penang curry (peanut curry). If I am in a supermarket, I just get Smucker's natural peanut butter (only peanuts and salt), but in a health food store, I get one of the organic brands (Arrowhead Mills is what we get here). There are also other delicious nut butters, like almond, cashew, macadamia, hazelnut, etc. Bryan , " Melissa " <mapalicka wrote: > > yuck. We have a half empty jar of the stuff!
