Guest guest
I have been to Burning Man the last two years; stayed about 8 or 9 days (first to get there, last to leave).... 1. all produce, eaten in the first 3-4 days because it goes bad after that (hard to keep enough ice in coolers for that long) 2. I make a couple of packages of this 'bacon' before I go to burning man, and eat a few pieces a day in a wrap, salad, sandwich, or by themselves. http://www.lightlife.com/bacona.html great protein! 3. bananas and peanut butter 4. morningstar sausages, cottage cheese, tobasco, and (indulgence) honey barbeque fritos (though who knows how veg. those are). even w/o the fritos this is a quick easy way to get lots of protein. I eat this a lot, even when not camping. 5. cereal and soy milk (bring a couple of boxes you don't have to refrigerate, so that you only have to have one in the cooler at a time) 6. frozen grapes (must keep on ice, but boy are they a treat in the heat!) 7. I opt for wraps instead of sandwiches. The tortillas won't get crushed like bread, and they are just easier to handle. Make a few peanut butter and jelly wraps and put 'em on ice. Then pull 'em out in the heat - again, cool food in the heat is a treat. 8. spritzer-type salad dressing 9. for lunch 'meat' I like tofurky smoked turkey slices 10. individually wrapped cheese or cheese alternative - quick and easy.
