Guest guest
A friend called with a request that I figure out a sodium free or at least low sodium seasoning for Raman noodles. He eats them a lot of work for a quick hot lunch and his doctor said he has to stop. Do any of you know of a good seasoning mix that would suitably flavor noodles. Just Braggs Aminos by itselff don't do it. Katie Never miss an email again! Toolbar alerts you the instant new Mail arrives. Check it out. Guest guest
Hi Katie, here I go, once again singing the praises of better than bouillon veggie flavor. It is not low sodium, but a heck of a lot lower than the ramen packet, and no MSG too. Just add to water to taste. hugs, Chanda - Katie M Saturday, February 17, 2007 11:44 PM Re: Ramen A friend called with a request that I figure out a sodium free or at least low sodium seasoning for Raman noodles. Guest guest
He could make up the " Chicken Seasoning " dry mix in the mixes file folder on our website here.. Just add 1 T. per c. water. It would be delicious. www.billsbest.net " chicken or beaf " like seasonings are also very good. Guest guest
yes that better than bouillon veggie paste in a jar is wonderful, but it does have to be refrigerated, once opened, so if he wanted to keep a jar in a refrigerator at work, that would be a great thing to do also. - PuterWitch Sunday, February 18, 2007 3:42 PM Re: Ramen Hi Katie, here I go, once again singing the praises of better than bouillon veggie flavor. Guest guest
Or even use a little miso and some no-salt seasoning like Mrs. Dash or Spike. Guest guest
Right, or he could take a scoop of it in a glad baggie. thing is, my kids say it tastes EXACTLY like oodles of noodles! LOL also, I do what my aunt from Thailand used to do, she would whisk and egg in there at the end of the cooking, it adds a great taste, and thickens the broth. another tip, if you buy the noodles they are expensive, if you buy the ramen packs, it is cheap, just throw away the packs and use the noodles ) hugs, Chanda PS. hungry for my oodles now! - wwjd Sunday, February 18, 2007 5:22 PM Re: Ramen yes that better than bouillon veggie paste in a jar is wonderful, but it does have to be refrigerated, once opened, so if he wanted to keep a jar in a refrigerator at work, that would be a great thing to do also. - PuterWitch Sunday, February 18, 2007 3:42 PM Re: Ramen Hi Katie, here I go, once again singing the praises of better than bouillon veggie flavor. Guest guest
I have never seen it in the stores. The only grocery stores here are Fred Meyer and Safeway. If I can find it and get it for him, it would really be nice. He is one of those kind of helpless-in-the-kitchen men. He is single in his 60s and usually eats out cause it is easier than coooking a TV dinner. If I have to order it, I will. Thanks for your help. Guest guest
Paul works with my husband and my dh has a small under the desk size frigerator, so keeping it chilled is not problem. I don't think he is going to go for the egg, though. That gets to be too much like cooking. Thanks for the suggestion. Guest guest
I know! I used to get it at my local market, and then they stopped selling the veggie flavor and added all this meat flavored stuff, grrrrr, so then I tried Whole foods, believe it or not .... NO GO!! soooooooo, I order mine by the case at the site, but you do not need to order the case, you can order by the jar. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. I used to make my own veggie stock, now.... why bother!! go here: http://www.superiortouch.com/btb.htm hugs, Chanda - Katie M Sunday, February 18, 2007 6:03 PM Re: Ramen I have never seen it in the stores. Guest guest
it will take a bit of trail and error. I would make it first myself, to test to see how much of the better than Bullion that it takes, then just tell him the measurement. hugs, Chanda - Katie M Sunday, February 18, 2007 6:07 PM Re: Ramen Paul works with my husband and my dh has a small under the desk size frigerator, so keeping it chilled is not problem. Guest guest
I do the egg thing with my " Chicken " noodle Potato Soup. It kinda makes it like an Egg Drop Soup. I mix the egg first in a bowl and then pour it into the hot soup, stirring it into the soup as I pour it in, so it won't clump, but be soft and stringly like. I also do it at the end of the cooking for this soup, so the egg doesn't get tough. We love it with the egg in it. Guest guest
Maggi seasoning is awesome on ramen, but also has salt. Is vegan though. (Maggi seasoning, not their beef or chicken or ham boullion.) Jeanne ih Ga The fish are biting. Get more visitors on your site using Search Marketing.
