Guest guest
Cannellini beans are the same as Kidney beans, just white. Kidney beans aught to work fine. I don't know about pinto beans, The flavor of kidney beans always makes me think 'mexican food' but this is European. Katie astrid_lovestocook <astrid_lovestocook wrote: This really sounds good! Guest guest
Cannellini beans have a more delicate taste (or milder if you prefer) than pinto beans. Pinto beans have a stronger 'earthier' taste. So IMHO it would probably work, but you would not be able to taste the seasonings as well (lemon, olive oil, garlic etc) so you might have to adjust the amount of these seasonings if you use a bean with a stronger natural flavor. Guest guest
I agree, I'd sub with small navy beans if I was going to sub in the recipe. Pinto and red kidney are much stronger in flavor. Donna --- cabrita_trl <roseta_lleo wrote: > Cannellini beans have a more delicate taste (or > milder if you > prefer) than pinto beans.
