Guest guest
Hi Willa, I've been a vegetarian for a very long time and I can say it wasn't popular back then. Now I'm trying to analyze this a little bit. Are you ready to go down the vegetarian path, do you have times you still miss meat a little and you weaken? Once you make your mind up you will feel so good about it that you can always work around people making comments. It's my life and I do what I want and I never force my vegetarianism on anyone and I rarely if ever even have to mention it to anyone. If I'm invited for dinner I usually take a dish with me to donate to the dinner so I have something good to eat along with whatever I find on the table. Believe me it just falls into place. Guest guest
Most people who are likely to invite me to a meal know that I am vegetarian, so I don't worry about it. When I invite people here I always tell them that I am vegetarian and cook that way, but I find that no on ever turns down a meal. Most people actually ask for recipies. Guest guest
Willa, I agree with Donna, it really isn't a big deal. Some people don't drink alcohol, and if someone asks them if they want a beer or some wine, they just politely say no. I'd say 99% of my friends eat meat, and if I go out to eat with them or go to a dinner party, I just ask that they leave the meat off my plate, and eat everything else. Sometimes I will eat a little cheese if there isn't much else available. Another thing I do sometimes is eat before I go, that way if there isn't much without animal products at least I'm not there starving! Guest guest
at my old job I used to go out with the girls from work. I was the only veg. They were happy to accommodate me, like ordering the tater skins with no bacon etc. It was never any problem for them and they wanted me to be happy too. hugs, Chanda - brbrunner Wednesday, February 21, 2007 7:03 AM Re: Hello Willa Willa, I agree with Donna, it really isn't a big deal.
