Guest guest
Now that's a deal. The book is probably 5lbs and that will be mostly postage. I have the hardback version and it's HEAVY! Guest guest
The one I bought is soft back, but it is still going to be heavy. The shipping was a flat rate of $3.99. There were two just the same with same price from same seller. Katie Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: Now that's a deal. The book is probably 5lbs and that will be mostly postage. Guest guest
I bought all my cookbooks, used, from Amazon. I think I paid $2 or so for the most expensive. Only problem....I ended up paying about $40 in shipping costs. LOL Sue ---- Donnalilacflower 02/22/07 21:28:34 Re: Re: cookbook question Katie Now that's a deal. Guest guest
Amazon is great for books. The only thing you need to be aware of is that if you buy used books, you are paying a set amount of shipping per book (I think its $3.49). The free shipping deal only applies to new books. So a $2 book actually costs you $5.49. Still a good deal in most cases. - " Sue " <kup Friday, February 23, 2007 10:35 AM Re: Re: cookbook question Katie >I bought all my cookbooks, used, from Amazon. Guest guest
On E-bay, when you buy more than one book from a particular seller, that rate does not apply. With the cheaper media mail rate, it is more reasonable to ship books that way. I always check out other books a particular seller is selling on e-bay, to see if there are others of interest that I want to bid on and then they combine the orders and give you a break on shipping. - Jim Lynch Friday, February 23, 2007 10:33 AM Re: Re: cookbook question Katie Amazon is great for books. Guest guest
Yep, thats true for ebay. But on ebay the seller is also able to set whatever S & H they want. On Amazon.com, they seem to be held to a particular amount ($3.49). - " wwjd " <jtwigg Friday, February 23, 2007 11:50 AM Re: Re: cookbook question Katie > On E-bay, when you buy more than one book from a particular seller, that > rate does not apply. Guest guest
I got most of mine at second hand stores and good will, and I got some very nice books, but hearing everyone go on about how wonderful passionate vegetarian was, I just couldn't resist. I got some new books on Freecycleing. Katie Sue <kup wrote: I bought all my cookbooks, used, from Amazon. I think I paid $2 or so for the most expensive.
