Bean/Lentil Patties question Cyndy

I do not have that problem with any of them. The

chayote-potato, lentil-potato, any of the bean

patties. I think you need to make sure they aren't

too dry and if so add a little broth. Now you are

probably turning them too soon. This is what you do,

get a book and read a few pages on a kitchen chair

while they brown. You are talking to the person that

does 10 things at one time, oh yes and play music at

the same time........LOL

OOOPs ! Don't know what in the heck I did with that post..Just

wanted to agree with Donna that often we fuss too much with our food

that is cooking..Especially fried. Patties of all kinds should be

allowed to brown completely before being turned. I start out very hot

and then turn the heat down for the opposite side.

One other tip, is to press the patties down with the back of your

spatula/flipper, while they are cooking on the first side. That makes a more

uniform surface, all touching the frying pan and much more likely to stay

together and get crispy, before flipping. I agree, don't turn to soon. Get it

nice and crispy. I also make the patty in my hand, squeezing and patting it

together into the patty shape before adding it to the frying pan. I do this

with any patty or homemade Vegetarian Burger I make.
