Guest guest
Mine are basil, oregano, garlic, thyme, and rosemary...all fresh of course. I've recently started growing my own herbs after using fresh rosemary in a few of my recipes. What a difference between fresh herbs and dried! Guest guest
my top five would have to be garlic, Mrs. Dash, Rosemary, Dillweed and lemon pepper. Some times instead of Mrs. Dash tho ill use Emeril's Essence Emeril's Essence 5 tablespoons sweet paprika 1/4 cup salt or salt substitute 1/4 cup garlic powder 2 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper 2 tablespoons onion powder 2 tablespoons cayenne 2 tablespoons dried oregano 2 tablespoons dried thyme A basic spice mixture used in dozens of Emeril Lagasse's recipes. Mix it Up and keep some on hand at all times. ---- moonspritetopaz 3/5/2007 8:14:18 AM Re: Question of the Week Our top five would be: garlic (dried, minced, powdered, fresh - you get the idea...), basil, cumin, cayenne and cinnamon. Guest guest
I guess I am confused, but I never heard of using oregano and garlic and sage, and did I mention th garlic in herbal teas. Do you really drink the stuff? I love garlic and use lots of oregano and thyme and giner, but I put them in foods. I don't drink them. Guest guest
Oh the question was, herbs that you use in Cooking OR Herbal Teas.. Not necessarily used for making both as that would usually be very different. Guest guest
Now, Gayle, you're not following the rules. Five, not eighty! LOL. Here's mine: garlic, chipotle, cumin, curry, Italian seasoning, cinnamon, and hot peppers OK, ok, I had a hard time too, but I kept it to seven. I think this question is too hard. -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , glpveg4life wrote: > > I left out Chile powder, cumin, red pepper flakes, cinnamon. > > I may think of some more. > > Gayle > > > glpveg4life > > Mon, 5 Mar 2007 2:01 PM > Re: Question of the Week > > > I use a spice blend called Tandoori seasing that I buy at Penzyse, it is one of my favorites, I also like garlic, celery salt, garlic, basil, oregano, garlaic, paprika, sage, pepper, ginger, and did I say garlic. > > Gayle > > > > jtwigg > > Mon, 5 Mar 2007 8:32 AM > Question of the Week > > Hi All, > > Time for another Question of the Week. Guest guest
LOL I think I would have a hard time keeping it to 5 too. I think 10 -15 is more likely easier for most of us, than narrowing it down to 5. Judy - Erin Monday, March 05, 2007 5:24 PM Re: Question of the Week Now, Gayle, you're not following the rules. Guest guest
Yeah, I only pick fun because I'm in the same boat. I have two spice racks and a box overflowing with the bigger bottles. They all get used regularly, but those 7 listed have permanent residence in the living room, where I continue to shake them on throughout my meals. -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > LOL I think I would have a hard time keeping it to 5 too.
