5?? That's funny. Umm....ancho chile, chipotles, oregano, lavender, garlic

would have to be the top 5. I made a lovely tea recently using mint tea,

lavender & chamomile.

Is that found near the other spices in the grocery store. I've not noticed it

before. Sounds good and thanks for suggestions to use it with.

I love Herbs De Provence and I sprinkle it across my meals and roast

potatoes and other vegetables in olive oil and this herb blend.

Five is hard. My best guess is garlic powder, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper,

and saffron.

Please don't send me to any desert islands with just those! Let me take them

all!

-ginger

just north of Boston

where desert islands sound good today - brrrr!

My current favourite spice blend is a Moroccan harissa spice mill. This

has a mixture of chilli flakes, sea salt, caraway, cumin and coriander

seeds, garlic and mint. It tastes great on just about anything.

My favourite herb tea mixes are either spearmint and liquorice or

rosehip, hibiscus, dried raspberry and rose petals.

I have run across some good recipes in the daily newspaper, I don't

read those types of magazines. I will print some of the Internet

frequently.
