Lovin' Spoonfuls

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup butter or margarine, room temp.

3/4 cup granulated sugar or raw sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

3 cups quick or old-fashioned oats

1 (10-ounce)Chocolate-Covered Raisins

1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

PREHEAT oven to 375° F. (since my oven was repaired

350 degrees works for me)

Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cardamom, and

salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar,

brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl

until creamy. Beat in eggs; gradually beat in flour

mixture. Stir in oats, chocolate-covered raisins and

nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking

sheets or a silpat sheet.

BAKE for 7 to 8 minutes for chewy cookies or 9 to 10

minutes for crisp cookies. Cool on baking sheets for 2

minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

What a day for a daydream

What a day for a daydreamin' boy

And I'm lost in a daydream

Dreamin' 'bout my bundle of joy

And even if time ain't really on my side

It's one of those days for taking a walk outside

I'm blowing the day to take a walk in the sun

And fall on my face on somebody's new-mown lawn

This sounds very good. I've never thought about putting those chocolate covered

raisens in cookies before, but LOVE the idea. Can't wait to make this. Thanks

for sharing the recipe Donna.

Like that nice hippie name I gave them? LOL You know

I got sick of hearing from my nephews and nice, don't

put so many raisins and the next one would say, don't

put so many chocolate chips. I solved the problem,

once I used chocolate covered raisins they were all

happy since you get both flavors with using less.

Enjoy them!

LOL good solution to that issue with them and the name. Too funny.

Just a question. Was that a typo with the flour amount? I was just thinking

that it seemed a little off with almost equal amounts of butter, flour and more

sugar than flour. I bet the Oats make up for it though, but thought I would

ask first, because I know how easy it is to make typo's. LOL
