Guest guest
hi... i think clif bars and some of the luna bars are vegan. also there are boulder bars and countless other ones. what surprises me is that you have not found them yet... even in wild oats which is a fairly good source for some vegan stuff (although i prefer bread & circus a lot more). but even regular supermarkets tend to sell these brands nowadays. i hope that helped -Sara btw: watch out for honey! even if it says non-dairy... always read the ingredients On Sunday, July 21, 2002, at 01:50 AM, James & Muffy Caldwell wrote: > I've been looking EVERYWHERE for energy bars but they all contain > whey or nonfat milk! Guest guest
Forget the energy bars. They are not worth a plugged nickel. Stick to fruit for higher, lasting energy. And you'll get a ton more nourishment in the process ... Guest guest
What about those bars that are just dried fruit (and nothing else if I recall). You can get them in most health food stores in the UK and have a blueish wrapper. I can only think of apple and apricot flavour. Had a look at some frozen ice things I have and got some details on fruit bars... A company called Cool Fruits makes 100% fruit bars called " Fruit Snack " . Not sure if they have a website (haven't looked) but the address is 11926 Fairway Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33913. 941 - 561-3331 Michael
Guest guest
You'll find my favourites in the files. Files > ***Recipes Posted to VGF*** > Cookies, Cakes and Confectionery > Cookies, Slices, Brownies etc. > Bars > Muesli Bars They are very adaptable. Just use whatever cereals you like or have on hand, vary the fruits or seeds or nuts. Just keep the proportions of wet and dry. I also freeze these for the kids for school (otherwise the whole lot would disappear in 1 day). Guest guest
I'd try it in a dehyrator but I think I'd soak the nuts and perhaps use fresh blueberries and - blueberries are in season now. Might even soak the cranberries and raisins too. maybe only half hour - and nuts for 4 - 6 hours. I might soak the raisins too - and grind it all in food processer blade - then place on sheets and dehyrate for abou 12 hours - perhaps turning after 8. Louise <<12b.
