Guest guest
Frozen mashed potatoes come out OK, but anything else comes out grainy and grey. YUKKK! Guest guest
UGH yes, potatoes turn out like mush. Freezing them (even cooked) breaks down the cell walls and releases water. French fries don't break down as much since they are first fried and then frozen. Nothing like a nice layer of fat to keep things fresh. (yuk) I don't like them canned, either. Guest guest
Hi Donna I freeze mashed potatoes, I have never attempted a dish with sliced potatoes. They need some kind of fat. You can use milk and butter or olive oil and soy milk. The texture I like when I freeze them is on the loose side but you can experiment and see what works best for you.
