Guest guest
Hi, My name is Tammy and I have been a veg for about 14 yrs, but I have a new problem. I am nursing my 2 month old and she is allergic to soy and dairy and possibly wheat. Dried beans make her gassy if I eat more than a serving a day. I need to know what are the most protein dense foods that I can eat that do not have soy, dairy, and possibly wheat in them. I have to do what is best for my child but I certainly don't want to eat meat to get my protein. As a nursing mom I am suppose to get between 50-60 grams of protein a day. Any ideas, suggestions? Please help. Thanks! Tammy

Guest guest
Thank you Bryan for your ideas and the website. I had forgotten about tahini and had not thought about hummus. I am going to stock up on your suggestions today. Hopefully all the nuts won't make me gain too much weight! I have been living on whole oatmeal and brown rice the last couple of weeks, so it will be nice to add some things. I appreciate your reply. Guest guest
HI Katie, I don't know if it actually destroys the thyroid but soy does make it so the thyroid don't work. Guest guest
One way that I know this is I asked my pharmacist because I found the info on my thyroid medicines insert. So soy interferes with thyroid function. Bev Katie M <cozycate wrote: I had never heard that soy destroys the thyroid. Is that new reasarch?
