Guest guest
Hi Stephanie, this is my version and it's in the recipe files in the Asian recipe folder. When the rice cools form into balls and roll in toasted sesame seeds if you like. You can also place bits of pickled Asian vegetables in the center, or sweet bean pasteif you have an Asian market near you, you will see the veggies, some are in the refrigerated section in clear bags. Have fun. If you buy raw sesame seeds (I prefer the black ones) you can toast them in a hot dry skillet. If you are interested in making vegetarian sushi I will give you the title to my awesome cookbook. Let me know. Donna Sushi Rice ~~~~~~~~ 1 cup sushi rice which is also called sticky short grain or CalRose rice 1 1/4 cups cold water 1 1/2 Tblspn. rice vinegar Note***When cooled you can make vegetarian sushi rolls or make " inari " with the tofu pouches , found at the Asian market. Rinse rice with cold water about 2 minutes, I use a mesh strainer. Drain and place in 2 qt. saucepan. Cover with cold water. Heat to a boil, reduce heat to a low simmer, cover and simmer 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and place rice in a non-metallic bowl and gently stir in rice vinegar. Fan gently as you stir the rice occasionally as it cools down, keep fanning, takes about 10 minutes. --- Stephanie <stargazerlily72 wrote: > That sounds good...could you please post how to make > the rice?
