Guest guest
We plant and take care of trees and plants in our landscape and gardens year around. I take things to the thrift store or give to others all the time. I recycle magazines and books with friends and use the library. We never throw things out of our car or on the ground places and keep our property clean of debri. It's not just a one day event at our home. Guest guest
Well happy early birthday! You know, I havnt ever even thought about earth day. I guess I should start though. I just planted my first vegetable garden, does that count? I have been wanted to start recycling, I guess that would be a good day. The no driving thing sounds good too. I wish I lived in a small town then driving wouldnt be such a big deal, kwim. I picnic sounds like fun too so maybe we will do that. Not using electric in our house would be great for a lot of people, could you imagine if just a 100 people didnt use their electric for one day what good that could do and if anyone knows the statistics on this let me know. Well thats all I got. Guest guest
I have a movie that I show every year to my 4th grade class. By the end of it, they're all singing " I need the Earth and the Earth needs me... " . Then I have them write why the air, the soil and water are important and ways that they can help improve things. I really believe that kids <get> the message about the environment. It's we adults who get lazy and complacent. By the way, does everyone in the Chicago area know about this weekend's Green Festival? The Green Festival brings together socially responsible businesses, environmental groups, leading thinkers on the economy and social justice, the best in organic food, and thousands of attendees for a two-day party with a very serious objective: expanding popular support for policies aimed at ecological sustainability and social justice. The Chicago Green Festival will feature more than 300 exhibitors and 150 speakers. April 21 (10:00am to 8:00pm) April 22 (11:00am to 6:00pm) McCormick Place 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago
