Guest guest
Sometimes I open the tofu package, drain off the water and stand at the sink and eat it plain. That's even less than 2 minutes..LOL Donna --- brbrunner <brbrunner wrote: > Sometimes I just heat up a can of pinto or black > beans, add lots of > garlic and hot peppers, sprinkle with nutritional > yeast and eat with > corn tortillas. Guest guest
The thing that my son and I have found that we like best is to get a block of tofu, press it and then cut it in bite sized cubes. I sprinkle them with seasoned salt, then put them on a baking sheet sprayed with nonfat cooking spray and bake in a 375 degree oven for about 20 to 30 minutes. It comes fairly close to the crispy tofu you get in a Chinese restaurant. Then while it's cooking I'll stir-fry some veggies and at the last minute toss the " fried " tofu in with it, add a little soy sauce to it and a dash of chili oil and it's really good that way. I've come up with lots of different ways to recreate traditional recipes (even veggie ones) as low to non-fat because I have high cholesterol and triglycerides and can't take the cholesterol meds due to a bad bout of that rhabdomyalisis - that rare side effect of statins that causes muscle weakness and all. Guest guest
I do the same thing, but add mustard, which takes an extra 10 seconds!!! Guest guest
I love it raw and plain like that. Horseradish is also good on it. We know how to make a quick meal, don't we Bryan?
