Guest guest
Hi guys and gals, I made this yesterday and it was very good, so I figured I'd share. It is very simple. I use my home-made sourdough bread, so I'm not sure how good it would be with other breads. 1 medium apple 4 lettuce leaves (romaine) 2 pieces of bread 3 Tbsp cream cheese (I am still using regular - haven't ventured over to the tofu brands yet) Core and slice the apple into thin slices. Put cream cheese on one side of both pieces of bread. Layer apple slices and lettuce leaves. Top with bread and enjoy. Not sure if any of you have tried this, it is so simple and filling. I cut my sandwich in half, because my bread slices were so long and only ate half. I was surprised at how filling and light it was. Be Blessed, Crista
Guest guest
Hi Crista, This reminds me of one of the best sandwiches I ever ate: granny smith apple thinly sliced with blue cheese crumbles and a little mayo in a pita pocket, yum. Going to try yours soon - I love apples & cream cheese . Guest guest
Yes, my Gran was from Sweden and she would make an apple sandwich with fresh ground cardamom on top. I forgot all about this little piece of childhood delight. THank you!
