Guest guest
Coleen, This sounds wonderful thanks for sharing it. I think I will make this for my next work potluck. I think even those picky veggie eaters will like this one. Sorry I don't know how to convert recipes in to vegan ones but I do agree that no salt would be fine considering all the salt they put in canned soups and cheeses thees days Hope your day is going well. Katie Coleen <cece4184 wrote: Here is a good recipe I made for a pot luck which was in the newspaper. The ingredients are low-fat, however, if anyone has any suggestions to turn this into a vegan recipe, please let me know. Also, I forgot to put in the salt and pepper when I made it, but discovered it was salty enough without it (for me). Guest guest
" 1 (10-3/4 oz.) can condensed 98% fat-free broccoli cheese soup 4 oz. shredded 50% light cheddar cheese (about 1 cup), divided 1 c. reduced-fat sour cream " Nice try, but with even this much fat, it is not really a slimming recipe. Let's get some more recipes with more veggies and less dairy and other fat-laden ingredients. I'll bet it is delicious, but not guaranteed to help you lose weight. This recipe might count as a special treat. The thing to look for in fats is how many grams of fat per serving, not % of fat. (98% fat-free means literally 2 percent fat.) Every gram of fat is 9 calories. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ from Maida Citizens for Pets in Condos, Inc. www.petsincondos.org - a Florida non-profit corporation South Florida Vegetarian Events www.soflavegevents.net
Guest guest
I agree, we've been avoiding recipes with lots of dairy. However, about once a week or so we'll have something with cheese, like veggie tacos. But only a weighed oz split up over 2 tacos so we know exactly what we're having. It's so easy to over do it on stuff like that! I'll start trying to better about posting more recipes as I know a lot of stuff we've been making lately is fairly low cal. Guest guest
Thanks, Katie, and others for feedback. I realized this was still too high in fat, but I'm still a newbie and finding potluck-type recipes can be challenging! Coleen All-new Mail - Fire up a more powerful email and get things done faster.
