Guest guest
We use jars of it each month. I had no idea it could be vegan and so good. I thought it would lack in taste. Wrong! It really rocks! Guest guest
-Donna, I bought my first bottle of Veganaise a week or so ago after hearing from the group how good it is. I have to hide the stuff from myself. LOL..I love it. I am a celery stuffer and put almost anything in it. Now my favorite is Veganaise and rice cheese. Yummy ? Also having good luck experimenting with the textured soy. I am sneaking it into casseroles that I give to my daughter's family and they can't tell it is in there. I have not had much luck with the flakes but the granulated works great if I soak it in water before adding it to a recipe. I think I will give up on the flakes and grind them in the food processor. I need to dip some veggies..Now where did I hide that Veganaise. tee hee Smiles and hugs Deanna -- In , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > After a day or two and stand there and say, oh now > where did you hid that Veganaise and I get back into > it.....hahahaha > > > > > > > > > > > > > I've got one more silver dollar, > but I'm not gonna let them catch me, no, > not gonna let them catch the MIDNIGHT rider. > - Allman Brothers Band, Midnight Rider > > > > > >

Guest guest
It's always in the refrigerated section in a jar. Never on the shelf in the isles. It makes the best macaroni salad. Guest guest
My Whole Foods had about 8 different varieties of Veganaise. I started with the original and I think I will buy the different ones when I am going to make summer salads. Tracey

Guest guest
I buy the gallon size jar of Veganaise from a Health Food Store (Adventist Bood Center) because it is cheaper to buy it in that size. It lasts me about 8-9 months and still tastes great! Guest guest
Veganaise is awesome - absolutely delicious. Kind of salty and sweet - I could sit down with a jar and eat it with a spoon. Nayonaise tastes like mayonaise its okay not something I could eat by itself though. Renee Diana Platt <diana.platt wrote: How does it taste? I have never had it. Guest guest
Veganaise is also maybe a little creamy-ish. It's sort of rich? For me, it tastes like the mayo I had growing up, but better. LOL. I could eat it by itself, too. It goes great with the tuno/garbanzo salad and tofu salad (like egg salad but made with tofu instead). I also like it on tomato sandwiches, and have made Thousand Island dressing (seitan reubans) and Ranch dressings with it (a tiny bit of soymilk for the right consistancy, all my herbs and a touch of nutritional yeast - sosososo good). Guest guest
Most people seem to swear by the Veganaise, but I find it tastes like Miracle Whip, which I never liked. I would LOVE to find a vegan equivalent to Hellman's mayo! Liz
Guest guest
Diana, It tastes way too good, I had to boycott from everyday eating - I only eat occasionally now. It is very good, but high in fat and I am generous when I use it in salads and sandwiches. If you have not checked out any of their products, Follow your heart is great. I live near one of their stores/ cafes and they have the best food! They have a vegan nacho cheese that is incredible for recipes. Here is a link to their store to check out. They also have some great cookbooks you can find on the website and some free recipes. http://www.followyourheart.com/ Paige _____ On Behalf Of Diana Platt Thursday, August 02, 2007 11:09 AM [Norton AntiSpam] Re: Veganaise How does it taste? Guest guest
That's funny, because I never ever liked Miracle Whip, and I loved the Hellman's - We used to get the canola oil one and to me the original version Veganaise tastes just like it (there's at least 3 different ones in Whole Foods so I also had no idea which to try when I bought it). How weird. I guess we all have certain tastes for things. I was very hesitant to try it, since I know what we went through giving up cheese - to the point we only recently started buying VeganRella (we never liked the FYH cheeses which is why I was hesitant to try it, but I wanted to make some tofu-egg salad I think it was). Guest guest
Hi Missie, I think I have to agree with you. To me the Vegenaise tastes pretty much like mayonnaise to me and the Nayonaise is sort of sweet like Miracle Whip. When I read the other posts saying th opposite, I had to go try my Vegenaise that is in the fridge again just to make sure. LOL I guess you're right - different tastes. Guest guest
I have Nayonaise in the fridge. Doesn't taste at all sweet to me its more bland. I wish I had some vegenaise but I'd never touch the nayonaise with vegenaise in the house - LOL. Got to be different taste buds. Guest guest
Gayle, This is what I've always thought too. Vegenaise - mayonnaise and Nayonaise - Mircle Whip. Although, I loved Mircle Whip growing up and prefer the Vegenaise now because it doesn't taste like Mircle Whip. I try to avoid them both because they are so processed and no real nutritional value, but I do like a little on sandwiches. Luckily, my kids don't like either. Guest guest
I have a question, I have just joined recently and don’t talk much, on paper that is, but I am curious about this Veganaise. I am wondering about is where it was you bought it at. Did you have to go to a health food store to find it? The idea of a raw in the regular Mayonnaise is just too much to handle. Ever since they started talking about eggs and salmonella, I fry my eggs till done, where I used to just love to take my toast and dunk it in the yolk, well no more! I want to go shopping soon for some of this instead. BarbaraBarbara J. Gordon

Guest guest
Welcome, Barbara, I have bought it at regular grocery stores in my area, but I live in San Francisco. Even Safeway carries it here, but you need to look in the refrigerated section where they carry tofu. It's not with regular mayonnaise. I could eat the stuff by the spoonfuls but I don't because it's still fat and I have pretty much given up the stuff. ;-) Sharon Barbara wrote: > > > I have a question, I have just joined recently and don’t talk much, on paper > that is, but I am curious about this Veganaise.
