Guest guest
We're looking for a crunchy munchies solutions - low fat, no potato, no sugar, log gi, vegan and preferably no wheat. We already eat a lot of fruit, and it's not covering the 'munchies', and dried fruits are spiking my husband's blood sugar too much. We've tried the veggie thing, but that's growing a little old, especially since so much of our diet involves salads and vegetables. Cold cereal has been a treat the last couple of nights, but it's hampering weight loss efforts. Help?
Guest guest
You could try roasting up some garbanzo beans. Mmmmm... My favorite pre-made crunchy snackable is soy nuts: split: http://tinyurl.com/2nbyrs (there are different flavors too) whole: http://tinyurl.com/3yk2zg -Erin www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , " Torey at TummyWear " <torey wrote: > > We're looking for a crunchy munchies solutions - low fat, no potato, no > sugar, log gi, vegan and preferably no wheat. Guest guest
there are veggie chips out there. i've seen them in regular grocery stores. http://www.taquitos.net/snacks.php?snack_code=743 maybe granola? it's quite easy to make yourself so you know exactly what's in it. (big on grain, low on added fat...) Guest guest
I've resorted to eating a few plain almonds w/ flavored water and found that it curbs my appetite during snack time or when I can't get to a meal in time. I carry a small snack bag in my purse, have one in the car, and one in my gym bag. I limit myself to no more than 15 in a day so I span them out and eat only 5 each time I need to. I've had weight loss results w/ this method along w/ my workouts. Good luck and I'll see what other ideas everyone else has. ~V~ , " Torey at TummyWear " <torey wrote: > > We're looking for a crunchy munchies solutions - low fat, no potato, no > sugar, log gi, vegan and preferably no wheat. Guest guest
Handful of granola, frozen grapes, or some baked potato chips usually does it for me. Zena
Guest guest
I mostly get the munchies when I'm away from home so I always carry a small packet of oatcakes in an airtight container - vegan, generally wheat-free, low fat, low sugar, not sure if they are low GI. They are great for days when I can't manage to fit in time for lunch - a banana and a couple of oatcakes will keep me going for hours. Are they available in the States? Guest guest
I've never tried making them, Melanie - there are so many really good oatcakes available to buy here. I found a recipe, though and I'll try making some at the weekend.
