Guest guest
Oooh I still hungry for bread here. I made a batch of tzaticki earlier in the week, but didn't get to the gyro bread. Everyone gobbled up the tzaticki before I got to the bread. That is one the kids all love, even just as a snack. I'd also like to pickup some halloumeh if its not too expensive today. The price seems to go up and down. Amy ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Guest guest
She makes WW bread in her bread maker now, but when I was growing up, she would make several loaves every Friday, by hand. She would make homemade " Chicken-Fri-chik " Noodle Potato Soup on Friday too. Our pastor lived down the street and had become widowed. We always took him a loaf of her fresh bread, some butter and a large jar of her soup. He loved that special treat. He was such a kind man. I'm glad my mom always practiced hospitality to others in this way..... and many other ways. Your bread selections sound great Amy. I need to get back to making my own bread soon. Life has been crazy with all the activities that my children are involved in lately......... Judy - akfral Wednesday, May 09, 2007 8:45 AM Re: Question of the Week - May 6-12-Judy me too...well, truthfully, I just want your mom to adopt me so I can learn her bread secrets. Though I've been having better luck with bread lately, my new favorite cookbook is 'The Bread Bible'. I've used the bread machine often for dough and just not had good success. I think partly because the machine is probably 15 years old, it may just be worn out. Last week I made the best French bread yet, not perfect but way better. Last night I made foccacia and it turned out pretty good even though I didn't have time for the 2nd rise. Amy ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Please share your bread recipes. I have a Zojirushi Bread maker. I ordered it from these folks. They are set up at a homeschool conference and give nutrition talks, grain grinding, breadmaking and other demos too. They have some great products. http://www.breadbeckers.com/products.htm http://www.breadbeckers.com/recipes.htm Look at the recipes on the side bar. Also that $6 bread cookbook is wonderful and what a good price. It is spiral so easy to keep open. Enjoy, Judy - akfral Friday, May 11, 2007 8:46 AM Re: Question of the Week - May 6-12- Amy Oooh I still hungry for bread here.
