Guest guest
Pocket Stew Each person brings a vegetable or some boullion cubes 4 raw potatoes 1 stalk celery 3 handsful green lima beans 1 wedge of cabbage onions, optional 6 or 8 bouillon cubes seasoning water 1. Put 1 cup of water for each person into a kettle and place it on the fire. 2. Bouillon cubes are dropped into the kettle. 3. While waiting for the water to boil, each hiker peels and prepares her own vegetable. 4. When the water is boiling, each cuts up his/her vegetables into the kettle. When seasoning, remember that the bouillon cubes are salty. 5. The stew is done after about 1/2 hour of boiling. *Note: we used this recipe when all the troops at a campout got together for a meal, and we called it a Potluck. Everyone brought whatever extra veggies they had and added to the pot. Usually there were biscuits or bread to go with. Vegetable bouillon would work very well.
