Guest guest
Typically cornbread is a quick bread... meaning it would rise with baking soda or baking powder... if you are using yeast, do you let the yeast rise up before adding the other ingredients? I make mine vegan... no eggs, and soy milk rather than milk. =) I can post that recipe later if you like.. it's easy, and I make it ahead of time and keep it in a jar so that all i have to do is add the liquid and bake =) peace, jenni On 8/10/05, Adrien Giquel <adriens_mandolin wrote: > I made mine simple with only milk, molasses, 1cp cornflour, 2 > unbleached flour, Tsp of yeast, it is all right but it doesn't come > out large like the other breads. Guest guest
You mean rise with the unbleached flour first? then ad the corn meal? I use milk if I didn't mention? It comes out pretty big but not as large as the wheat. I don't understand to use three tables spoons of yeast I only use one full table spoon. I use always olive oil in all baking and no sugar but honey or molasses. Molasses has been around since the time of the Buddha in B.C. they used it then. You might find this funny my corn bread recipe is from the front of an album of The Goose Greek Symphony!there were no eggs involved. , Jenni Billings <jenni@b...> wrote: > Typically cornbread is a quick bread... meaning it would rise with > baking soda or baking powder... > > if you are using yeast, do you let the yeast rise up before adding the > other ingredients? > > I make mine vegan... no eggs, and soy milk rather than milk. > =) > I can post that recipe later if you like.. it's easy, and I make it > ahead of time and keep it in a jar so that all i have to do is add the > liquid and bake =) > > peace, > jenni > > On 8/10/05, Adrien Giquel <adriens_mandolin> wrote: > > I made mine simple with only milk, molasses, 1cp cornflour, 2 > > unbleached flour, Tsp of yeast, it is all right but it doesn't come > > out large like the other breads. Guest guest
Try caramelizing the onions, adding most to the batter, but leave some in the bottom of the iron skillet then add the batter to the hot skillet. Yum. (leave sugar out of the recipe and add about 1 t. salt.). _____ On Behalf Of sleek_greek Wednesday, May 30, 2007 5:46 PM Re: Corn bread Try some sauteed onions and chipotle chile minced up.
