Guest guest
Don't forget the two most evil ingredients in food that can REALLY affect our health... High Fructose Corn Syrup and Hydrogenated Oils... These two ingredients alone can cause disease and weight gain... Stop using products that contain these ingredients... By buying products that contain these ingredients, we continue to support the HUGE food companies.... Local and from scratch foods rarely have these ingredients... unless of course we continue to use certain margarine and shortning!

Guest guest
It is very hard to find peanut butter without it. Any brand suggestions?
Guest guest
I buy mine at Trader Joe's it has nothing but peanuts and salt, and I believe you can get unsalted. Guest guest
I found this one: Smart Balance® Omega Peanut Butter. You can click on " Where to Buy " here: http://www.smartbalance.com/omega3.html and enter in your zip code for a seller near you. In Canada, the President's Choice Blue Menu product line offers a natural peanut butter called " Just Peanuts " . They also have " Just Almonds " . And just like the labels says, that's all there is: no sugar, added oil (hydrogenated or otherwise), no filler, or preservatives, no chemicals, no salt. And it tastes pretty good too I've found that most health food stores will also carry some kind of natural nut butter. The nice thing about these nut butters is that there is so much flavour, you don't need to use as much as the stuff with all the " other stuff " in it. Good luck! Guest guest
I find two brands in my local grocery stores, " Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter " and store brand. Both are only ground peanuts and salt, or just ground peanuts in the unsalted variety. The Smuckers is usually with the other peanut butters. The store brand is in the refrigerated section. Guest guest
This kind of problem just occurred in my family. My blind 89 year old mother has peanut butter and whole wheat toast as a snack off an on during the day when she gets hungry. When my father was alive, he did all of the shopping because he was employed in the grocery industry most of his working life. He was always very careful to buy peanut butter that only contained peanuts and salt. My brother who lives with my mother, does not eat peanut butter, keeps her safe, and also does most of her grocery shopping, Recently, I was looking for something in her pantry and found a plastic heavily advertised peanut butter jar that contained both corn syrup and hydrogenated fat--I immediately threw it in the trash. Since my brother knew no better, I explained the difference. Then I simply went to my local coop where they had at least ten brands of peanut butter in glass jars that just contained peanuts and salt. And, they also have a peanut butter grinder and salted peanuts so you can grind your own fresh peanut butter [yes, it is cheaper and delicious]. I think that any health/natural foods store would have as large a selection as my local Coop here in Eureka CA. Have a good shopping trip. Kathleen It is very hard to find peanut butter without it.
