Guest guest
Hi all, Happy Solstice I'm hoping to buy an immersion blender/mixer and was wondering about brands. What do you have & what do you like/dislike about it? This is the stick blender kind of thing you can just dunk in a pot of soup and blend away to make it all creamy and smooth, yummers. Any advice appreciated Peace, Diane
Guest guest
I have this one from Target: _http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-2/qid=1182443717/ref=sr_1_2/601-138 7517-3390521?ie=UTF8 & asin=B00008GSA5_ (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-2/qid=1182443717/ref=sr_1_2/601-13875\ 17-3390521?ie=UTF8 & asin=B00008GSA5) I like it a lot. Guest guest
I have the Cuisinart Quick Prep: http://snipr.com/1nfcj (Mine's white though, rather than the chrome pictured.) It has two speeds, good reviews, and is quite handy (pun intended). My only gripe with it is, since it is top- heavy, it's real easy to knock over when leaving it on your countertop in the plastic cup. -Erin http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog/vegan-done-light.html , " strayfeather1 " <otherbox2001 wrote: > > Hi all, > > Happy Solstice > > I'm hoping to buy an immersion blender/mixer and was wondering about > brands. Guest guest
I have one of those and I adore it! Mine is a Braun, a blender/chopper, and it has different attachments for different uses. The blender thingy is fantastic at just pureeing a soup in the pot, no need to transfer to anything else. Love it. There is also an attachment to chop up herbs or nuts. I use that feature a LOT. It is a small capacity, and very handy, so it ends up being easier to chop stuff than to lug out my food processor. I recommend you go for a high quality one, you get what you pay for in this case. Good luck! Blair
Guest guest
Thanks for the tips and advice. We got a simple Braun for $19 (had a gift card for Linens & Things ). I'm going to enjoy making creamy soups! Peace, Diane
