Guest guest
http://gourmetsleuth.com/verdolaga.htm I buy this by the bunch for 35 cents at the middle eastern market. It's delicious, washed and chopped, added to rice along with slivered almonds, fresh peas, grated garlic and ginger. Has a slight lemon flavor to me. Guest guest
yes, love Purslane - we really like to use it in mexican dishes, or saute it with onions and garlic as a topping for black beans with tortillas, add a little yogurt and a squeeze of lemon - delicious. doc , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > http://gourmetsleuth.com/verdolaga.htm > > I buy this by the bunch for 35 cents at the middle > eastern market. Yep, I grow it in my back yard. Had some for breakfast. Cooked it in olive oil with garlic, kelp granules, salt and onions, and threw in some amaranth grains. Turned out purty darned good!!! And it's full of those good old Omega 3s!!! Sharon " Animals are my friends. I don't eat my friends! "
