Me too!

This was my smoothie this morning:

1 banana

3 or 4 carrots

frozen blueberries

frozen cherries (I was out of mango)

flax seed

hemp seed

about a quarter cup of nutritional yeast

unsweetened cherry juice

2 huge red chard leaves

a bunch of dandelion greens

half a bag of spinach

one Pixie Vite (it's a powdered vitamin that my kids hate, so I'm using

them up)

:-)

Yes, the Vitamix container is about 64oz, I think. It's too tall to fit

under most cabinets. :-)

Vita- Mix is an incredible machine. It takes ice and hard veggies and fruits

and purees them to fine slush, that makes the best smoothies ever. They use

them at those smoothie bars in the mall and sell them in Health food stores, on

their internet site and periodically in places like Costco and Sam's Club when

they are in the store doing demo's.

I love mine and have had it for about 8 years. Still going great and their

customer service is incredible, should you ever need it. They have loads of

recipes for smoothies on the Vita-Mix website. http://www.vita-mix.com/

BTW they now have a 32 ounce container you can also buy, that will fit under

your cabinets, if you would like that.

and makes ice cream and the smoothiest creamy soups ever. You can also grate a

carrot and cabbage in it if you add water to it and then drain off the water

afterwards.

Deanna,

I used to feel the same way. But now it's just as important as my

washer and dryer and I use it far more often. (I use it every day and

sometimes 2 or 3 times a day.)

And places like Costco and Sam's Club have promotions where you can save

some money. Also, you don't really need the grain container. I have it

but I've never used it. I used my 32oz container to grind spices and

things. (You can use the other containers to grind dry things.) Also,

they sell reconditioned machines which have a warranty which is another

good way to go.

One of my favorite things to do as a treat is to make sorbets. You put

in a frozen banana, some frozen cherries or mango, a little vanilla

extract, maybe a date to sweeten, and turn it on. The most delicious

soft-serve sorbet!

It does everything, and it lasts for years and years. I got the

professional model about 15 or more years ago, and it still runs as it did

when I got it. I have replaced the seal once.

we got our Vita-Mix for about $400 at a home show last year. i've been keeping

track,

and we've already paid for ours with money saved from eating breakfast on the

run. plus,

we've lost, respectively, 10, 12, and 18 pounds since then. i buy ripe bananas

on

clearance, strawberries on sale, and so on, and freeze them in serving sizes, so

when it's

smoothies for breakfast time, it's just a matter of tossing 'em in (along with

the other

stuff). it's amazing what you can put (hide) in a smoothie! yumm-O!\
