Guest guest
I have an almost full bottle of white wine. It was too bitter for my tastes but I don't want to waste it. Has anyone done any baking with wine? I'm thinking of using it to make some cookies or bread. Anyone have any advice or recipes? How much liquid would you replace with wine? For example, my italian yeast bread uses 1 1/4 cup water per loaf. Would you replace half with wine? More? Less? I would think using all wine would make it too strong. Also, how long would the wine need to be heated to burn off the alcohol? (alcohol retards yeast growth) I would like to make something that would be good for a cookout/poker game. I'm thinking cookies because they would be easy to snack on Any sugestions are greatly appreciated Thanks, April
Guest guest
I put some in my stir-fry sauce. I perfer red wine, but white will do it I don't have any red. Actually sake is a white wine and that is what the Japaneese use. Katie April <adv42084 wrote: I have an almost full bottle of white wine. Guest guest
I have not baked with wine at all. My solution when a bottle is not to my liking - make fruity drinks from it. Mix with a sprite or fruit juices, slices of oranges and limes. Might be a hit with your poker game. Or just cork and keep in the fridge for occasional sautes?
