Guest guest
I agree, what is bitter melon? It looks like a dinosaur cucumber to me. I've never tasted one before. Guest guest
I've had it curried. In Sri Lanka they make a dry curry with potato, bitter melon & cabbage. The melon is very bitter but not a nasty bitter, more sort of bracing and stringent. I found these recipes at RecipeZaar but have not tried any. I had forgotten all about bitter melon; I wonder if I can find any in Seattle Here's the link to the recipes: http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes.php?foodido=12707,13792,16491 & title=bitter%20m\ elon hth, Peace, Diane , " majestic_potion " <majestic_potion wrote: > > what is a bitter melon, it's an ugly wrinkled up vegetable, why is it > called bitter? Guest guest
I buy bitter melon at the Asian farmer's market here in San Francisco. It's very bitter. So far I've only juiced it. It's great for diabetics. I'll have to check out those recipes, Diane! Sharon strayfeather1 wrote: > I've had it curried. In Sri Lanka they make a dry curry with potato, > bitter melon & cabbage.
