Guest guest
So what should I make? I have made one thing already, I looked up recipes for chicken tarragon and simply substituted seitan for the chicken. It was good, but I am looking for other ideas on how to use this fresh herb, now so abundant in our garden. Thanks!
Guest guest
Tarragon is great in salad dressings. Make some and store it in the fridge. Guest guest
How about some infused vinegar and/or oil? They will keep awhile and make for great salad dressings. You can also dry your tarragon. I'm envious - no garden for me this year but have high hopes for next year Enjoy your healthy garden! Guest guest
I love tarragon and carrots as a main flavor for simple soothing soups or stews. No real recipe--Just use a lot, a lot of both, along with whatever else (chunks of potatoes, summer squash, peas, corn, small noodles, anything that doesn't have a super strong taste by itself), add water and cook until it's rich and yummy. This has been one of the first things I do for colds and flu for maybe 20 years 'cause it's so easy and comforting Peace, Maureen > > , " cabrita_trl " > <roseta_lleo wrote: > >> So what should I make? >> >> I have made one thing already, I looked up recipes for chicken >> tarragon and simply substituted seitan for the chicken. Guest guest
Thanks for all the suggestions! I like the idea of this soup, and also the tarragon vinegars that were suggested earlier. We are also growing marjoram, basil, different types of oregano. Drying the marjoram and oregano worked very well, I might as well dry some of the tarragon too. For the basil I use it in a lot of things but if the amount gets overwhelming I make pesto and freeze it for a later use. , Maureen <ailanthus wrote: > > I love tarragon and carrots as a main flavor for simple soothing soups > or stews.
