Guest guest
Here is the Braggs Liquid Amino's. You can find it in most any health food store and Fresh Market Grocery Stores. It lasts a long time and tastes like a light Soy Sauce, but has way less sodium, but still tastes just as salty. Great Product. I always have this product in stock at my home. You also have the added benefit of all those Amino Acids in it. http://www.bragg.com/products/liquidaminos.html Here is some info about Nutritional Yeast Flakes, which many of us here, enjoy. Even lightweight packages have a large amount of this product, as it is very lightweight. This yeast is grown on enriched purified cane and beet molasses under carefully controlled conditions. Nutritional Yeast is also an important source of B-Vitamins and Amino Acids (This is NOT the yeast you use in breads. Do not eat yeast that goes in bread, without first baking it in a product. ) Nutritional Yeast Flakes are sold in in powder and flake form, and is used most often in vegetarian and vegan cuisine to simulate creamy sauces such as fake cheese, but is also used as a general condiment. It is delicious sprinkled on popcorn. There are recipes books that use this product. Here is the main one and may contain the recipe that your sister uses. http://www.amazon.com/Nutritional-Yeast-Cookbook-Recipes-Vegetarian/dp/157067038\ 2 Nutritional yeast is high in B vitamins and folic acid, and tastes sweet/salty/nutty. Nutritional yeast flakes are most commonly found for sale in bulk or a canister at natural or health food stores. Also Amazon.com carries several brands of it. Here is a look at what they carry. http://tinyurl.com/23ezc9 Judy mom97128 7/17/2007 3:22:16 PM baked Tofu recipe My sister won't share her baked tofu recipe ! Guest guest
I don't have a clue either. But this is what I do and my 16 year old son and 16 month old granddaughter love it. Press the tofu, cut into desired size and shape. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray, spread the tofu on it. Spray the tofu with the cooking spray and sprinkle with seasoned salt. Bake at 400 degrees until lightly browned. We add it to stir " fried " veggies (done with cooking spray) and serve over rice. Like I said, my son will eat it and my granddaughter gets mad if she doesn't get any. Guest guest
Marcia, Sorry I can't help with your bratty sister's recipe (oh, that made me giggle), but here's one you can make and not share the recipe with her! I can personally verify that it's yummy - my daughter loves it. (I leave the kelp out and I shape the tofu into stick shapes, rather than fish shapes.) http://shmooedfood.blogspot.com/2006/01/tofu-fish-sticks.html Sharon
Guest guest
I have never used it but it is called Braggs Liquid amino's. When I make baked tofu, first I freeze it, then defrost it, the press it, the pressing get rid of all the liquid, then you can marinate it.? I usually slice about 1/4 inch thick, then marniate in some soy sauce, olive oil, water, garlic, ginger and some pepper. Then bake usually in a slow oven.
