Monkey Bread

This one is in my bread maker right now.. I will not be trying much of it as it

is a little higher in calories than I am allowing myself at this time.

Ingredients for 12 rolls:

1 1/8 cups milk

2 tbsp butter or margarine

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp salt

4 cup flour

2 tsp yeast

Additional:

6 tbsp butter, melted

1 cup finely chopped nuts

Directions:

Remove dough from the machine when the dough cycle completes. Form into 1 inch

balls, then roll them first in the melted butter and then in the chopped nuts.

Placed balls in a greased tube pan or bundt pan. Cover and let rise for about 1

hour. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 30 to 35 minutes.

If this is sliced in 12 rolls then it will be 207 calories a slice. Not counting

the calories in yeast which I couldnt figure.

I did end up eating a very small piece of it.. I ended up making as

a bread and not using the extra butter and nuts.. My son didnt

realize that was supposed to go with it.. He didnt like the idea and

I dont eat nuts anymore so we left them off.. I sliced a piece off

for him and took a small piece

I have been on a diet and my will power has gotten better in the

last 3 months.. I think I did pretty good at staying away from it..
