Hi

I am a new member living in Ontario, and just starting out to gradually

replace meat with vegetable sources. I can do that easier now as I am an

empty-nester and there is only me and my hubby to worry about. Are any of

you folks in that age group or have I come to the wrong spot? Maybe I

should google " empty-nester-going-nuts-eating-nuts-vegetarian " ...

Anyway...I don't know much about this way of eating, but I am a nurse and I

do know that most females between the ages of 20-40ish may have problems

with low iron because of their cycles, and you have need to adjust your diet

by adding veggies that are deep green in colour. If your iron is way down,

it may be because you fall in this age group, and you may need to take iron.

Consult with your doctor. I doubt you are sick. I have been

wrong...according to my kids...

Anyway, I am looking forward to learning allo I can from this group as

learning is an age long thing, right?

Hi Wendy,

I'm in Ontario too - Southeastern, near Brockville. Welcome to the group. I'm a

former-empty-nester (my daughter is 20)... I have two wonderful step-children

who have changed all that :)

This is a great group. The recipes are awesome. I'm sure you'll find lots of

useful information here :)

Cheers!

I am an expty nester, except for the occasionally grandchild that climbs back

into the nest. I live in Alaska and entertain myself cooking and gardening.

You should see the fine crop of organic snow I grow every year!

Wendy, welcome!!! This is a wonderful group and the ages vary greatly. If

you are looking for some recipes, go to the group page on ,

click on files (upper left) then click on recipes. There are thousands of

recipes and the majority are tried and true.

-Wendy,

Welcome you have come to the right place.

I have been an 'empty nester' now for umpteen years. Learning is

indeed a lifelong thing. I try daily to learn something new. I think

I am one of the healthiest grannies around.(.Thank Heavens and knock

on wood.) I have been a Vegetarian for many years and it has paid off

handsomelly. No drug bills. I spend my money on yummy things to eat,

herbs and spices and books. I love to experiment with food and

constantly revise and create recipes. You will find some of the best

recipes ever right here in our files.-Look for TNT which means 'tried

and true'..I had to ask..Had no idea what it meant.

Welcome, and Good Health and Happiness to you

Make a rewarding , peacful day

Sending smiles and hugs your way
