Guest guest
I have noticed that my local supermarkets no longer have a specific organic section except for the produce and frozen food section. I am now finding organics in every department. Even organic baking items such as sugar, flour, oil , spices, etc. I buy bags of organic lemons, apples, etc. Even bought a large bag of organic rice the other day but so far dried beans are few and far between. Daughter and I noticed recently that a brand of O pasta was on sale for $1 per pkg. We stocked up with several packages. There are several brands of O pasta sauce available but I still prefer to make my own. Two of our local markets now have their 'own' brand of organics including soy milk and frozen items.I buy a gallon of O apple juice for less than $5 Safeway's frozen burgers are two boxes of 4 for $4. I usually make my own except during the sweltering summer days. Walmart even has O garlic. If you want some real bargains shop Sam's Club for bulk organics, like tea, pasta, frozen veggies, etc. The compitition is sure bringing down the prices at the 'health food stores'. Guest guest
They do this so you will shop their entire store in stead of only shopping in the organic aisle!!! Marketing!! Guest guest
Just recently a new Hannaford's opened a stone's throw from me.? They bill themselves as the northeast's largest certified organic supermarket and stock over 3,000 organic and natural products.? This area has cried for a store of this type for so long.? Our local?natural foods store is very pricey and not that well stocked. Hannafords has everything and then some and the prices are decent to boot.? I am in organic heaven and no longer hate grocery shopping.? While some organic products are mixed in with the regular groceries, most of them are in a specific area which makes it very easy for me.? There are times when I don't have to venture beyond the organic/natural?section.? Beautiful store and....if you're not happy with something they give you double your money back. Guest guest
Hannaford rocks! There are three of them within probably a fifteen mile radius of me. They are on the way to and from work, so I shop at them regularly. Great produce selection, etc.. And, as you say, their produce return policy is to double your money back. This caught me by surprise when I had to bring back a rotten eggplant once; left with two. -Erin http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog , TendrMoon wrote: > > Just recently a new Hannaford's opened a stone's throw from me.?
