INGREDIENTS: 3 tbsp butter* 3 tbsp maple syrup* (or pure honey) 2 tbsp brown sugar* 1 tsp baking soda 1 c whole wheat flour* 1 c chocolate chips*, divided 1 c Milo 1 c rolled oats* 3 tbsp boiling water 2 tbsp walnuts*, diced METHODS: Preheat the oven to 180C/350F. Place the butter, maple syrup (or pure honey) and brown sugar in a small saucepan. Cook over a low heat until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved. Bring to the boil, then remove from the heat. Stir in the baking soda. Stir the flour, and place chocolate chips, MILO and rolled oats in a bowl. Add the butter mixture and water. Stir until thoroughly combined. Cool completely in the fridge. Line up a plastic wrap on a flat surface. Take out dough and roll into a rectangle 3-4 " height and press firm evenly. Sprinkle diced walnuts and remain chocolate chips. Roll and fold both ends together. Store 30 minutes in the fridge until firm. Take them out and cut into small dough evenly, roll them into ball shape and place them on a lightly greased cookies tray. Bake in the preheated oven for 7-10 minutes (do not over-bake) or until the cookies are firm when pressed in the centre.
