Guest guest
Hello all.. Congrats on being one of the top groups.. I have just been seconded to Sharjah in the UAE with my work and will be here for a wee while. Whenever I go to the supermarket here they are full of exotic veg that I don't recognise and don't know how to cook. But since Im here Id love to taste some of them/experiment. Does anyone know of a good website or guide that describes more exotic vegetables and ways of cooking them? Rebecca
Guest guest
Hi Rebecca, How exciting for you! This website: The Cook's Thesaurus is fairly extensive. http://www.foodsubs.com/ It has rambutan and durian, so it may have some of the new fruits and veggies you're getting to taste. Share some of the names with us when you have time and recipes you come up with. I loved learning to cook new veggies when I lived in Sri Lanka. Guest guest
http://foodlorists.blogspot.com/2007/06/exotic-vegetables.html any of them on the blog above? What do you find in the UAE? I would guess lots of different types of eggplants. If you describe the unfamiliar vegetables you find intriguing I am sure someone on the list has experience cooking it. , " Innes, Rebecca " <Rebecca.Innes wrote: > > Hello all.. > > Congrats on being one of the top groups.. > > I have just been seconded to Sharjah in the UAE with my work and will be > here for a wee while. > > Whenever I go to the supermarket here they are full of exotic veg that I > don't recognise and don't know how to cook.
