Guest guest
Deanna What type of grinder do you have? I have one that the blade rotates fast horizontally and is easy to clean. It works well for poumpkin and sun seeds. However, it does not do well with walnuts, which is the type I usually grind. I also got a burr mill one that does a great job of grinding but gets clogged and I cannot figure an easy way to clean it. Any suggestions. I really like the way it does coconut but it gets so clogged, I use the other one. any suggestions? Guest guest
GB, I still like the old fashioned chopper for walnuts. The little glass container with the blades attached to a handle-lid. I like walnuts finely chopped but not 'powdered'. You can find these little choppers at thrift stores for less than $2. My little electric coffee grinder is a 'Smart Grind' made by Black and Decker. I love it for coconut because it will turn it into powder, just as it does to nut meats. This grinder has two rotating blades and is easy to clean. PS..I usually roast walnuts before chopping. They have a much better flavor Deanna in Colorado & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & & , " Guru K " <greatyoga wrote: > > Deanna > > What type of grinder do you have? Guest guest
Deanna I too like the little choppers for making things like cookies, cakes pasta salad, etc. My mom had and probably still has one of those. I had one but it didn't work so I gave it away. Sometimes, I like to make it into a powder for flavor or for some effect and then I like to use another type of grinder. Your " Smart Grind " sounds like it does a good job but I have a hard time envisioning it. If it works then stay with it.
