Nikki's return made me wonder how long our group has been going, so I

checked. Peter started the group on 4 July 2001, so almost four years now,

and we have had 23136 messages so far, and, apparently 757 members.

I wonder what we will be discussing in another four years.

WOW! That's a pretty good span!

CONGRATS Vegan Chat and all the great people that have made it

possible!

So let's see, this July marks my third year being Vegan and right

around then was when I joined the group. Seems like a lot longer than

that.

Hi Jo

For the most part doing quite well. Have a few medical issues with

some of the extended family, but then have a few blessings that came

our way too.

I had a wonderful Mom's day tho. DH & Zak gave me a small water

fountain for the yard which is basically a big pot with a pump and

bubble system and a rock garden inside. It's the most peaceful little

thing and the birds love it! I considered giving a couple of fish a

nice home in it, but am worried about the birds. Tho the fish would be

very small and could hide amongst the rocks, I would be crushed if one

of them did not hide soon enough. So I'm giving up that thought.

Other than that most everything is good.

How is all with you and yours? Did your son treat you well this Mum's

day? Because if not.....

Hi Nikki

The fountain sounds nice, and I can imagine how restful it must be. A

lovely present. We have heron round here so it's not worth even considering

fish.

My family are well thanks. Our daughter still doesn't have a permanent

job - they are very hard to come by now. She is working most of the time on

short term contracts though, so that is good. Our son (:-)) has moved to go

back to university to do an MA, and he is enjoying himself a lot. Needless

to say we are missing him a lot. They did treat me well on Mother's Day

thanks. We have that in March here, but I think it was quite recently

celebrated in the States, wasn't it?

Hi Jo

Ah, but the heron do sound nice. It's one of my favorite birds. We

have so few visible here. Occasionally if you drive past the " lakes "

in the forest preserves you can catch a glimpse of one.

I do so badly wish to have the fish too, it's terrible I know. The

thought of them playing amongst the stones enchants me. But I still

don't know how well they would hide. I know the birds could not get

them in the rocks, but I still don't want to chance it.

Our Mother's Day was this past Sunday. For us it is always the

second Sunday in May with Father's Day following in June.
