They say the only bird geese are afraid of is swans. We have alrger

companies here that rent the swans for their ponds in the summer!

One of the customers at our store lived next to a guy that had about 50

geese. We used to give him all the going south veggies/fruits and trimmings

to give the guy with the geese. The guy with the geese had about 20 acres

and a 5 acre pond for them. He did bird rescues and most of his birds had

been those turned into the humane society to be killed or had been shot or

hit by a car or something.

 

One of his children got too close to the birds and they beat him with their

wings and got him down to the pond and drowned him. He was 3.

 

One should never let children too close to geese unless they are well

supervised. Geese can be quite aggressive!

That sounds nasty. I bet the lady wished she had never started feeding

them.
