remember not to let it overheat, since i don't know how big it is...er where you have it located

water gets warm, and it won't be able t o retain any dissolved oxygen

no more fishies nikki_mackovitch May 10, 2005 1:39 PM Fountain WAS Re: Memories That's a good idea, except I need to find a way to do it without sacrificing the birdies access to the water as the stones come above the edge of the container.Maybe, I could put the screen under some of the rocks so that the fishies couldn't get to the top.Hmmm......Thx Fraggle!Nikki :) , fraggle <EBbrewpunx@e...> wrote:> put a thin wire screen over the fountain....To send an email to -

and dunno wot they put in yer water over in Chi-town land...but here they add chloramine...which doesn't evaporate, and fishes turn their gills up to nikki_mackovitch May 11, 2005 4:35 AM Fountain WAS Re: Memories That was another one of my concerns too.The fountain had an aerator in it that will kepp the bubbles going and it is in a spot where it receives some shade, but I need to wait until the temp gets up there to test the water.Nikki :) , fraggle <EBbrewpunx@e...> wrote:> remember not to let it overheat, since i don't know how big it is...er where you have it locatedwater gets warm, and it won't be able t o retain any dissolved oxygenno more fishiesTo send an email to -

take the easy route then...bird netting you use in yer garden to keep birds off plants, fruit, etc..

easy peasy

as for bought water..why not just save rain water?

you can also use tap if u add some fish cure stuff you can get from yer local pet store... nikki_mackovitch May 11, 2005 6:19 AM Fountain WAS Re: Memories Geesh, the list is getting longer! :)Tis good though, these are the things I need to know. Thx Fraggle!Just to be on the safe side I would then use bought water. But now in thinking about the screen, I worry about rust and polluting the water that way.I think at this point I am going to do some research at the library, online and the garden store and lay out some plans to see if it would work and keep the fishies safe.If not, I stil have a beautiful little fountain for the birds and myself to enjoy!Nikki :) , fraggle <EBbrewpunx@e...> wrote:> and dunno wot they put in yer water over in Chi-town land...but here they add chloramine...which doesn't evaporate, and fishes turn their gills up toTo send an email to -

There is special netting that we use in aquariums. You can get it in bigger

pieces or sew smaller pieces together to make bigger pieces.

That's a good idea too, thx! I may just stop by the pet store to see

if they have this netting or anything else they recommend.

Not to just wait for the heat and see the temp of the water.

Thx all!

Nikki :)
