Guest guest
I have just got hold of the new S.O.A.D. disc ( and simply splendid it is too!)and on the cover are some claims about the packaging ( saving trees by not using wood pulp, and using soy based inks ). Can a disc actually be vegan and enviromentally friendly ( assuming of couser that you have a wind - or bicycle powered stereo to play it on!,- and headphone of course!)Peter H How much free photo storage do you get? Guest guest
Peter, I just got it too, and it's fabulous. They've evolved a bit from the last two CDs, and certainly from the first. As for the CDs? I don't know. It's " environmentally friendly " for me, because I won't ever discard it. The way to make environmentally friendly CDs, therefore, is to not let bands that suck make CDs. Bye bye Brittney Spears and InStynk! --Kevin peter hurd wrote: > I have just got hold of the new S.O.A.D. disc ( and simply splendid it > is too!)and on the cover are some claims about the packaging ( saving > trees by not using wood pulp, and using soy based inks ). I wouldn't have thought it would be possible to make bio-degradable disks... but if you get fed up with the music they can be "recycled" in all sorts of ways... cup-mats, frisbies, decorations, Sea Devil guns... the list is almost endless. Guest guest
Tie them in trees or on stakes in your garden. They are great at keeping birds out of your fruit trees! Guest guest
Or sell it back to a used music store. Then I can buy it from them for cheaper than new! Guest guest
Well, I like to get at least a few of the cherries, plums and peaches off my trees. I don't mind "sharing" but I am really offended when they get all the fruit. Hey, if they are going to eat all my fruit then that only leaves me with them for dinner <g> (take a chill pill Jo, I am only joking) Lynda - Peter Monday, May 23, 2005 10:35 AM Re: New Thread can CD`s be vegan in composition? Guest guest
Nice idea, and glad you liked the CD too, nice to have a band that can both rock, have a conciense, and still make me smile. Has anyone seen these claims on any other CD packaging ( soy based inks?), I was wondering if it was a new trend? The Valley Vegan....... Dont eat the fish."Kevin L. Guest guest
No fruit trees unfortunately - they would be bigger than my back garden, and I need the birds to wage war on my slugs and snails ( having cats doesnt help that much ) The Valley Vegan...Lynda <lurine wrote: Tie them in trees or on stakes in your garden. Guest guest
Sea Devils, hmm....I vaguely remember them, werent very convincing were they, I always prefered the cyber men. Guest guest
Hi Peter > Sea Devils, hmm....I vaguely remember them, werent very convincing were > they, I always prefered the cyber men. I think the main problem with the Sea Devils was the string vests... apparently insisted upon by the director because he thought the costumes were a bit too suggestive (all that bear rubber, you know). I always preferred the cybermen too - particularly the older style ones, before they went for the " handle " look. > If the list became invisible, then how did you know it was endless? Because I have special glasses that enable me to see invisible lists, of course. :-) BB Peter
