Guest guest
Personal Message from Anouk Hi all, on friday, last day of school, afterschool, I peaked into some nearby empty kindergarten classes, I was shocked at all of the Mcdonalds propaganda. One little girl who is a friend of my son, in the same school, told me that she was a McReader and that they get points for every book they read in their Biggie fries. I manage to take sneak into one of the empty classroom and took this picture. I took it because if I told people, they probably would think that I was exagerating. (there was a statue of ronald mcdonald but a school personnel came into the classroom, I put my camera away.) -anouk Want to save this photo or share your own photos? Guest guest
I live in florida, near tropicana juice, this picture is just a tipical classroom in public school, this commercialism bothers me. It makes a strong argument for homeschooling. my son is the only vegan. my son recently got a Coca Cola reading achievement certificate. whatever happened to just reading? luckily, he will be going to a different school in the fall. , " njdoane " <njdoane> wrote: > that is pretty unmcbelievable - what state do you live in? > > Thanks for sharing, > > nancyd > , Anouk Sickler <zurumato@e...> > wrote: > > > > Hi all, > > on friday, last day of school, afterschool, I peaked into some > nearby empty kindergarten classes, I was shocked at all of the > Mcdonalds propaganda. > > One little girl who is a friend of my son, in the same school, > told me that she was a McReader and that they get points for every > book they read in their Biggie fries. > > I manage to take sneak into one of the empty classroom and took > this picture. Guest guest
Yeah, my niece got Pizza Hut gift certificates as a " prize " for reading a certain number of books at school. Ugh! , " Anouk Sickler " <zurumato@e...> wrote: > I live in florida, near tropicana juice, > > this picture is just a tipical classroom in public school, > this commercialism bothers me. Guest guest
Have you taken a look at textbook? They use name brand products in math books. How many M & Ms or how many Whoppers can you buy with or if your mother pays X for Sugar Smacks, how much would she save if she buys Fruit Loops for Y. Guest guest
We lucked out. This year my homeschool group participated in a reading program in which we earned free tickets to Six Flags Great America, a theme park near us. Tix are usually $60-$70! Each child earned a ticket for reading 360 hours worth of books, each teacher earned one and me the administrator earned one for putting it all together. It was a pretty nice program!
